What this is about

Treams uses cookies and similar technologies on treams.com. Some are needed to make the site work. The rest we use to see how the site is used, and to measure and target our advertising on Google, LinkedIn and Microsoft.

For anything that isn't strictly necessary, we ask your permission first. No consent, no cookie. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page.

This policy explains which cookies we set, why, how long they stay, and what you can do about it.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer, tablet or phone. On your next visit, the site can read that file again. It's how a site remembers your language choice, or how an ad platform recognises that you visited us before.

We also use similar technologies that do the same thing in a different way: local storage, session storage, and pixels (small invisible images that report a visit to a third party). Where this policy says "cookies", we mean all of these.

First-party cookies are set by treams.com itself. Third-party cookies are set by parties we work with, such as Google or LinkedIn. Those parties may also use the data for their own purposes. What they do with it is set out in their own privacy statements — we link to each one below.

The four categories

Our cookie banner works with four categories. Necessary is always on. You switch the other three on or off yourself.

Necessary

Without these, the site doesn't work properly. They remember your cookie choice, spread the load across our servers and help with security. We don't need consent for these: they are strictly necessary to deliver the service you requested. You can't switch them off in the banner. You can in your browser, but the site will work less well.

The parties involved:

• Webflow — hosts our website and delivers the pages.
• Finsweet Cookie Consent — the cookie banner itself. It stores which categories you accepted or refused, so we don't have to ask every time.
• HubSpot — sets cookies that remember you refused tracking, so that refusal sticks.
• Google Tag Manager — decides which of the scripts below load. It sets no cookies itself and only loads the rest once you have given consent.

Retention: from a single session up to around six months.

Analytics

These let us measure how many people visit, which pages they read, where they come from and where they drop off. We use that to improve the site. We need your consent.

• Google Analytics 4 — measures website use. Google truncates your IP address in the process, and it isn't stored in our reports. We have a data processing agreement with Google. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
• HubSpot — our CRM and marketing platform. HubSpot measures which pages you view and which source you arrived from. If you fill in a form, HubSpot links that behaviour to your contact details, so we know what you're working on before we get in touch. Our HubSpot instance runs on European servers. • LinkedIn — sets one cookie that determines whether LinkedIn analytics may run for this site.

Retention: from one day up to two years at most.

Marketing

These let us measure whether our ads work, and let ad platforms show you more relevant ads. For example a Treams ad on LinkedIn after you looked at our pricing page. That's called retargeting. These cookies link your behaviour on our site to the ad networks below. We need your consent.

• Google Ads — measures whether an ad led to an enquiry or a demo, and makes it possible to show you a Treams ad later across the Google network. Cookies from doubleclick.net are part of this. Manage your preferences in My Ad Center.
• LinkedIn Ads — we use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure conversions, build audiences, and see in anonymised form which types of companies and job functions visit our site. See LinkedIn's cookie table and privacy policy. You can opt out through LinkedIn ad preferences.
• Microsoft Advertising — we use Microsoft's UET tag (Bing) to measure conversions and build remarketing audiences. See Microsoft's privacy statement. You can opt out through Microsoft's ad settings.
• HubSpot Ads — reports website visits to HubSpot so we can build ad audiences and see ad performance inside HubSpot.

Retention: from fifteen minutes up to thirteen months at most.

Google Consent Mode v2 is active on our site. Until you consent to analytics or marketing, the Google tags set no cookies.

Personalisation

These remember your preferences, such as whether you want the Dutch or English site, and which version of a page you saw if we're running an A/B test. We need your consent. Parties involved: Treams itself and HubSpot.

Retention: from a single session up to a year.

Our legal basis

We don't need consent for necessary cookies: they are strictly necessary to deliver the service you requested (Article 11.7a(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act). For analytics, marketing and personalisation, your consent is the basis (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

That consent is voluntary. If you refuse everything except necessary, the site keeps working in full. You'll just get less relevant ads, and you'll see those ads more often.

Transfers outside the EU

Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft and HubSpot may transfer data to the United States. We always contract with their European entity, and those transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, backed by Standard Contractual Clauses. Our HubSpot instance runs on European servers.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone other than the parties named above, unless we are legally required to.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

Click this link to switch categories on or off. Your new choice takes effect immediately; cookies already set for a category you switch off are no longer read and expire at the end of their retention period.

Your rights

Because cookies can process personal data, you have the rights set out in the GDPR. You can access your data, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You can have processing restricted, request your data in a readable format, and object to processing, including profiling for advertising. You can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what lawfully happened before.

Send your request to [privacy@treams.nl]. We respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

This policy will change

When we start using a new tool or replace an existing one, we update this policy. The date at the top shows when that last happened. If what we collect or why changes materially, we'll ask for your consent again through the banner.

Cookies not listed here
